700,000 years old, this is a fun place for kids of all ages. An average temperature of 40 degrees makes it a great place to escape the heat. Settlers used it to make ice for various purposes including ice cream.
My kids always really enjoyed our visits and still talk about them. Make sure you take at least one flashlight per person, 2 or 3 are recommended by the Forest Service. It gets really dark when there are no lights on.
So take a cool trip north and visit a great place.
