It's Raining, are you saving your share?

Did you know that the state of Arizona has tax credits for rain water harvesting? You can read about the tax credit at this link.

We all have noticed how much greener and lush the plants look after a nice rain. It is not just because of the extra water. Rainwater contains beneficial ingredients for plants. Rain can contain sulfur, potash, several other minerals and even microorganisms, all of which provide a boost to plant growth. During summer thundershowers there can even be an added nitrogen.

A 1,500 square foot roof can collect 7,300 gallons of water. A basic cistern system, like the one shown, can collect 400 gallons of water.
