Learn How to Geocache

The City of Mesa is having a free lecture “Geocaching 101” at the  Red Mountain Library, 635 N. Power Rd., on Sat., Jan. 23 from noon to 2 p.m.  Participants will learn the history of Geocaching, how to locate a Geocache, placing a Geocache, and an introduction to Geocaching applications like Google Earth, GSAK and Cachemate.  A live demonstration will be held after the lecture. Participants are encouraged to bring a GPS device.

Geocaching is described at a real life treasure hunt by some people. We have friends who do this all over the country and the entire family is involved. It has even allowed them to meet some interesting police officers.

For more information contact Mesa Librarian, Bruce Barnes at (480) 644-3572.
