Things To Do in the Air

If you like airplanes, helicopters, or just about anything that defies gravity check out these events at These are great fun for kids of all ages.

The Arizona Electric Festival, Jan 28-31, is real close and a lot of fun to watch. It is held at the Superstition Air Park in Usery Park. The last time I was there I got to watch a helicopter smash into a thousand pieces when he clipped a rotor on the ground doing inverted flight. Cost of this is around $5 per carload if I remember correctly. You can get more information here.

The Electric Flight Expo, March 12-14, is also great. It is held in the Cardinals Stadium and they have exhibits, competition flying, and hands-on training outside. Check out their site,, for more information.
