Introduction to Ham Radio

Do you think that transistor is a reference to a punk band or your female sibling?

Do you think that a sun spot is a great place to watch basketball?

Did you know you don’t have to know morse code anymore to have an amateur radio license?

Amateur radio is no longer just for the geeks. You remember those guys with pocket protectors, blue ink stains on their shirt pockets, and slide rules?

No more studying all those boring dots and dashes, listening to endless tapes.

Now you too can share in the fun and have a great parking sign.

Introduction to Ham Radio is the topic for this month’s Emergency Preparedness Workshop. This workshop will be taught by Mike Pulley, Net Manager of the Amateur Emergency Network – Maricopa (AEN-MAR).

Thursday, 7pm, March 25th, 2010

The workshop will be held at the Higley Stake Center on Recker Road, just south of Warner Road. (Just north of the 202. There is no 202 exit ramp at Recker Rd.).

Invite your friends, family, and neighbors. Come share your ideas or listen to others share theirs. Bring questions, comments, information, tips, tricks, and cool products to share with the group.
